  • Kajian: Tenung ilusi optik ini akan meningkatkan daya penglihatan

ujian ni berkesan meningkatkan daya penglihatan tp utk tempoh 30saat shj....

Staring at this simple optical illusion for 30 seconds can noticeably improve your vision, claim scientists
    12 July 2017

Looking at a simple visual illusion may enhance people's ability to read small print, according to a new study. The team discovered that visual acuity—the ability to see fine detail—can be enhanced by an illusion known as the 'expanding motion aftereffect'.

Research from psychologists at the Universities of York and Glasgow found that how people see is not only dictated by the shape and condition of the eyes but also perceptual processes in the brain.

Researchers used the classic logMAR eye chart which opticians use to test people's eyes. Letters become increasingly small and more difficult to read as you move down the chart.

    HOW TO DO THE TEST:

-Sit around an arm's length away from the computer screen.

-Take off your glasses if you wear them and read as far down as you can on the logMAR eye chart.

-Then look at the expanding circles (the ones spinning clockwise) for thirty seconds.

-When the time is up quickly try and read the logMAR eye chart again.

-For around thirty seconds your vision should be much clearer and on average people can read one line lower than they could before.

Researchers used the classic logMAR eye chart (pictured) which opticians use to test people's eyes. Dr Jenkins said that in general people should be able to read one line more of the logMAR eye chart having looked at the expanding spiral (the one turning clockwise). 'If your vision is really excellent there is not really much that can be done to improve it beyond that'. 'It was better for around about half a minute so we're not suggesting it as a replacement to glasses', he added.

The contracting circle (spinning counterclockwise) has the reverse effect. According to the experiment you should be then less able to read the letters on the logMAR chart.

Researchers presented 74 people with a spiral pattern that rotated either clockwise or counterclockwise for 30 seconds. They were then presented with a set of letters which they were asked to identify.
