Would love to know how top merchants are ranked.

gnarlyguy,
it is actually a simple database retrieve. i use average points.

assume;
X=user to be rated
Y=number of users rating out X
Z=total credits accumulated by X

1 credit = poor
2 credits = good
3 credits = excellent

so,
rank of X = Z/Y

the list is sorted by highest average credits

i know there is a little problem when X only receive 1 testimonial and the credit is 3. X will gain the highest rank.

any ideas on how to improve?

:hammer:

Hi,

I do not know how mighty do that ranking stuff, and do not really care much. But at my first, I thought it was ranked by how much money had these merchants/users went through successfully until the bid is closed, disregard of the testimonials.

If you ask me, "how do you trust these guys around nogold?", I'll say, I judge them based on how much money had these merchant went through. Example, a merchant did a successful trade up to USD 2000, well sure enough, I think I will trust this merchant.

Anyway, just a thought.

Hi
The problem is when trader did business outside the ec exchange, through YM/PM. Lets say if I used forum to advertise something, not using ec exchange. Therefore no one unable to trace how much money traded and only them knew the exact value.

ntah nyer..guna jumlah testi yg good+excellent jek cukup..sbb nama pun 'top merchant'. makna nyer, merchant yg paling laku ler :D klu nak ltk yg black listed, buat 'worse merchant' lak..tangga teratas utk list 'worse merchant' tu, adalah org2 yg dpt undian 'poor' terbanyak. menjadi tanggungjawab merchant utk mengingatkan customer rate dia.

here is my ideas, similar to lelong:

x = total credit earned by x records

-2 credit = poor
+1 credit = good
+2 credit = excellent

only limited 1 or 2 per same person, verified members only.
